For spoken English to be effective the proper sounds of English need to be used!

This book presents the 46 sounds used in standard English as spoken in the US and the UK. To represent the sounds, simple, straightforward S4 Phonetic text is used, as described here.

For each sound, there is an easy-to-remember icon, and four examples of its use, giving the conventional spelling and Chinese translation.

This publication is also available as an iBook here, where versions for Spanish and French speakers can also be found. These iBooks contain sound clips for all the examples.
